Stern Structural Arithmetic

The Number Track is made of 10 sections each representing a decade. The track is used with experiments (e.g. how many 3-blocks will fit up to 15?). Children can visually test their estimation by placing three blocks in the track and discovering that 5 such blocks will reach up to 15. The track along with the games described in the Teacher Guide provide very effective ways to teach multiplication and division. It can also be used to demonstrate and reinforce other basic concepts and operations – addition and subtraction and underlying sense of number and quantity.
